I am, however, beginning to get just a wee bit irritated by all the news people and their speculations about the condition of the nuclear power plants which are having problems.
I don’t doubt the plants are in dire straits, but it seems like these people are just trying to fuel concern where it might not be warranted or needed.
I’m not convinced that we need to know absolutely everything –about presidents, power plants or whatever.
I’m not in favor of ignorance, you understand, but sometimes a little can be bliss.
So the Japanese government doesn’t go for 100 percent transparency, but I don’t think the U.S. does either – no matter what they say.
Sorry, as Henri Bienvenu said in his last Pense Donc column, pet peeves really irritate sometime.
I will certainly have to remember the difference between trusty and trustee. I know I’ve used the word incorrectly.
I guess my pet peeve is people trying to stir up trouble without knowing all the facts.
Isn’t this weather gorgeous? I went with a group of eighth graders to plant trees with the LSU Coastal Roots program and it was beautiful walking in the woods.
For two years the kids have been planting seedlings on a property where a helicopter crashed several years ago.
Acres of woods were burned. The pilot and one passenger were killed. Two others survived.
The students were actually a bit disappointed that this year the ground was dry.
Last year the kids walked/slogged/splashed in mud and water and of course they bragged about it back at school.
Everyone was hoping to see a bear or deer, but had no such luck. The only animal was the owner’s roly poly little pooch, which ran alongside the four wheeler or rode on the seat barking at the students.
The boats are going by regularly now, loaded with crawfish traps. There’s been a steady stream of traffic every morning. I haven’t heard of any success, but the water is up and rising more, so boats can get in the woods.
The next series of Swamp People begins March 31. The Landry’s live in Pierre Part, so the ‘Choot Em’ logo is everywhere.
My family in California and Michigan have mixed feelings about the show.
They’re not used to shooting, blood and mess, and there’s no denying it’s not a pretty thing to see an alligator hooked and then shot in the head.
I’m not crazy about the mayhem myself, but I have to admit it’s fun to watch the show.
