Two Hammond women run out of gas on I-10 after alleged shoplifting, also face Acadia narcotics charge

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon said that deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office have arrested Justin Ewing, 31, of Lafayette and Shari Talley, 53, of Hammond following an incident that occurred on I-10 east bound mile post 92 near Duson, LA early Wednesday morning.



According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon deputies at the scene reported that two females were arrested by officers with the Duson Police Department for shoplifting and following a brief investigation, officers learned that the vehicle they were traveling in was on I-10 and had ran out of gas and that a two-year-old child was sleeping in the vehicle along with two other occupants.





During the investigation deputies located a large amount illegal narcotics and paraphernalia through out the vehicle,





Justin Ewing, age 38, of Robley Drive, Lafayette and Shari Talley, age 53 of General Pershing, Hammond were both arrested and charged with:





Possession with the Intent to Distribute Oxycodone

Possession of Hydrocodone

Possession of Lyrica

Possession of Diazepam

Possession of Carisoprodol

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Possession of CDS in the presence of a juvenile



Bond on Talley was set at $156,000.

Bond on Ewing was set at $150,000.



The child was placed into the custody of OCS.



Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that his office is investigating the following incidents:



3/04/11



-Residential burglary on Night Hawk Road near Crowley.



-Residential burglary on Berlin Road near Rayne.



03/03/11



-Deputies responding to a domestic incident at Meadows Apartment, Crowley arrested Gustavious Tezeno, age 21 of Meadow Apartment, Crowley and charged him with Domestic Battery. He was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.



-Residential burglary on Finrock Drive near Crowley. Electronic equipment was taken from the residence.



-Domestic incident at a residence on Bayou Mallet near Eunice. Warrant issued, arrest pending.





03/02/11



-Criminal Damage to property on Bourre Drive near Basile. Deputies arrested Ryan Stroder, age 18, of Bourre Drive in Basile and charged him with proper equipment required and public intimidation.



-Theft of crawfish sacking tray from a crawfish field on Harmon Road near Crowely.



-Disturbance on Monceaux Road near Crowley.



03/01/11



-Attempted theft of a motor vehicle from a residence on Alliance Drive near Scot.



-Field fire on Mire Hwy near Church Point. Mire Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident.



02/28/11



-Telephone harassment on Bamboo Lane near Jennings.



-Cyber bullying on Mire Hwy near Church Point.





Warrants Division presently looking for the following individuals. Anyone knowing their whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Cordell Goodman, Missioin Drive, Baton Rouge, LA

Loma Joubert, Beta Drive, Baton Rouge LA
