BATON ROUGE -- Services will be Saturday for contractor and homebuilder Jerry Fa-Kouri, Sr. He died Feg. 23 at age 79.

Fa-Kouri, a native of Opelousas, founded Fa-Kouri Constructon Co. in 1958 and built many homes and businesses in the Baton Rouge area for the next 50 years. He was a one-time member of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.

Survivors include his wife Billie and three sons.

Arrangement are by Greenoaks.

Antiques expert

HAMMOND -- Services will be Sunday for antiques expert Lavera Killen Pittman. She died Feb. 19 at age 84 when a tree fell on her car while traveling in Virginia.

Pittman was an authority on 18th Century antiques.

She was a graduate of Northwestern State and Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary and former director of the Southeastern Louisiana University Baptist Student Union and a founding member of Immanuel Baptist.

Survivors include her husband Iddo and four children.

Arrangements are by Harry McKneely & Son.
