An Acadia Parish Grand Jury has indicted a man who allegedly slashed two men in Basile in November.

The jury returned a true bill against Devin Redlich, 25, of Evangeline Highway on Wednesday, charging him with attempted second-degree murder and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The incident leading to the charges took place at The Roadhouse Lounge, which straddles the Acadia-Evangeline Parish line along the Basile-Eunice Highway.

Redlich is charged with attempting to kill Charles Ethan Bacon and with battery with a dangerous weapon on Greg Manuel.

Investigators have to this point not discussed publicly what led to the alleged attacks by Redlich.

Redlich was initially arrested by Evangeline authorities, but a court held that arrest invalid because the incident occurred on the Evangeline side of the parishes’ boundary line.

The suspect’s bond was initially set at $1 million
