An Opelousas teenager is accused to terrorizing students and teachers at the St. Landry Parish Alternative School.

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said his office received a call about the alleged terrorizing Wednesday morning.

The call was in reference to a 15-year-old student allegedly making threats of physical harm to staff and students of the school.

Investigators learned that the same student

had made threats in the past and had also mentioned to some people that he had a list of people he would harm.

The delinquent has pending charges in an unrelated case, Guidroz said.

Due to the seriousness of this threat, Investigators contacted the St. Landry Parish School Board and requested a supervisor go to the school, and the child’s mother was also called into the school.

After obtaining written statements and other documentation the child was taken to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with two counts of Terrorizing.

The crime of Terrorizing is described in part as the intentional communication of information that the commission of a crime of violence is imminent or in the progress or that a circumstance dangerous to human life exist or is about to exist causing members of the general public to be in sustained fear for their safety.

The youth will be placed into a juvenile facility pending a court proceeding.
