Breaux Bridge – Funeral services were held at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 7, 2011, at St. Bernard Church for Merley Marie McGee, 76, who passed away on January 4, 2011, at 11:40 a.m. at St. Martinville Nursing Home.

Reverend Austin Leger was the Celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services. Lectors were Buffy Himel and Bree Gary. Gift bearers were Taylor Boudreaux, Kailey Boudreaux and Kimberli Boudreaux. Musical selections were provided by Helen Boudreaux.

Burial was in St. Bernard Cemetery #1.

Mrs. McGee, a resident of Carencro, was the daughter of the late Willis McGee of Eunice and the former Elise Courville of Henderson.

She is survived by three daughters, Delores Comeaux of Lafayette, Cheryl Boudreaux of St. Martinville and Annette Chiasson and husband Andy Kulka of Carencro; two sons, Tibby Boudreaux of Carencro and Troy Boudreaux of St. Martinville; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gerald Boudreaux and Ricky Boudreaux; three sisters; and four brothers.

A Rosary was recited Thursday at 7 p.m. by her son, Tibby.

Pallbearers were Tibby Boudreaux, Troy Boudreaux, Andy Kulka, Shannon Comeaux, James Kinney, T.J. Boudreaux, Lance Boudreaux and Robbey Himel. Honorary Pallbearers were Gerald Comeaux, Brook Boudreaux, Lukas Gary, and Evan Himel.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and residents of St. Martinville Nursing home for their special care and companionship during her stay.
