Crowley – In a light week of holiday action, St. Martinville’s basketball Lady Tigers lost a close non-district game to Crowley, 57-53, on Tuesday, Dec. 28.

The ’Ville ran into foul trouble, with three starters – Abreanna Alexander, Shalacie Filer and Tranicia Charles – leaving the game early with five fouls each.

Filer led the Lady Tigers with 12 points before fouling out, while Summer Coleman finished with 11.

There were no reports on the Cecilia-Iowa game played on Dec. 29, or how Breaux Bridge fared in the Jeanerette tournament held last week.

District action resumes this week with the following games:

•Friday, Jan. 7 – Breaux Bridge at St. Martinville; Cecilia hosts Beau Chene.

•Tuesday, Jan. 11 – St. Martinville at Beau Chene; Breaux Bridge hosts Opelousas; Cecilia has bye.
