Three of the five nominees for the Grammy Award for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album of 2010 have performed at the Rendez-vous des Cajuns show at the Liberty Theatre.

The Cajun music radio & TV show is held every Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Grammy nominees announced this week are:

“Happy Go Lucky” - D.L. Menard. On April 10, the Rendez-vous des Cajuns show hosted the CD Release Party for. Menard’s Grammy-nominated CD.

“En Couleurs” - Feufollet. On July 17, Feufollet performed many of the songs from this CD at their performance at the show.

“Back Home” - The Pine Leaf Boys. This group has performed often at the Saturday sessions.

“Creole Moon: Live at the Blue Moon Saloon” - Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole.

“Zydeco Junkie” - Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band.

Liberty Theater coordinator Ginny Moody said the Rendez-vous des Cajuns show congratulates all of the nominees and “appreciates their dedication to preserving the musical culture of South Louisiana.”

This week’s show will feature the original Mamou Playboys with Jason Frey and Vorance Barzas.

The box office opens at 4 p.m. Saturday and all tickets are general admission, $5.

A Cajun French speaking emcee hosts the show and there is an open dance floor.
