Be very weary about adopting pets from St. Martin Animal Shelter. We recently adopted a dog and were given a certain amount of time to have him checked out by a Vet. Upon learning our new pet was overcome by heart-worms and a bill of 162.00 the shelter would only take the dog back to find him another home or euthanize him and not return any of our money even though we brought him in in the allotted time. After telling us they would extend the 72 hours and honor a 2 week period, THEY DID NOT. Just for the record Ms. Monique Louvier , Nov. 11th thru Nov. 29th is 12 business days and taking into fact the 25 and 26 were considered holidays and Vets offices were not open for business I was well in the 2 weeks time you said you would honor, not to mention your attitude was FAR from professional. Hope the next person that walks through the door doesn't take a liking to the same dog only to go through the same heartache about finding out the pets condition and money down the drain. The total to do treatment was $800.00 with no guarantee that would rid him of them.
