FALSE RIVER -- An unbelted driver died early Thursday when his pickup left the road and rolled several times.

State Police said the accident happened about 4:30 a.m. on La. 418 north of La. 1 in Point Coupee Parish.

Joseph Adams, 26, of Simmesport drove his truck off the road in a curve. It rolled several times, ejecting the unrestrained Adams.

Troopers suspect that impairment was a factor in the crash and lack of seat belt use was a factor in Adams’ death.
