Miller, who won the Class 3A high jump with a leap of 6-4, successfully defended the title he earned at the 2007 state meet. His Bulldog teammate Larry Frederick was the state runner-up in the high jump after clearing 6-2.
Their efforts earned Cecilia 18 points in the team totals. Franklin took the team trophy with 41 points while Catholic High of New Iberia finished with 26.
Babineaux clocked a 39.12 to win the Class 4A 300-meter hurdles race for Breaux Bridge. Tiger Leland Phillips earned third place honors in the high jump, clearing 6-4. Brandon Roberts of Opelousas won the event with a jump of 6-6.
The Bridge collected 18 points overall while O.P. Walker took team honors in Class 4A with 49 points. Northside and Teurlings Catholic each finished with 21 points.
Lady Bulldog Natasha Wiltz finished third in the long jump with a leap of 17-3, and placed sixth in the triple jump with a 35-6¼ effort which was a new Cecilia High school record.
Judy Jones of Wossman won the long jump by soaring 18-2¼ while Victoria Guillory of Northwest placed first in the triple jump at 36-6.
