Conroe, Texas – Allen Hayes, 50, and his wife, Tammy Daigle Hayes, 47, of Nina were killed Wednesday, May 11, when a pickup truck hydroplaned on Texas 105 East, sliding into a group of motorcyclist.

The couple were on a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle traveling west on Texas 105 East in the small community of Cut and Shoot, when the accident occurred.

The Hayes were pronounced dead at the scene. Two riders, survivors of the crash, were visibly shaken but not injured in the accident.

In Iberia Parish on Friday, May 13, a crash between a school bus and motorcycle claimed the life of Kirt Rebert, 25, of St. Martinville.

The accident happened on LA 679 at Dugas road when a Blue Bird Iberia Parish school bus driven by Debra Mitchell, 56, of Broussard was traveling east on LA 679. In a attempt to turn onto Dugas Road, Mitchell turned left into the path of Rebert’s motorcycle. Rebert applied his brakes in an attempt to avoid the crash but struck the right side of the bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.
