Breaux Bridge – The St. Martin School Board will honor the parish’s students of the year during their monthly meeting set for 5 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Instructional Center, 111 Courville Street in Breaux Bridge.
In addition to the recognition ceremony and a number of routine matters, today’s three-page agenda includes:
•Consider Finance Committee recommendations to 1) purchase land adjacent to Teche Elementary with Cecilia area bond proceeds; 2) increase by $100 the tuition for summer drivers’ education classes; 3) hire an additional PC technician.
•Schedule a tenure hearing for an employee and, in executive (secret) session, discuss personnel issues including employee conduct and performance.
•Under personnel changes, a) consider appointment of a supervisor of computer services – applicants include Christine Foster, Kevin Ebarb, James C. Wynne, Patrick Bienvenu, Tim Borel, Ryan Guidry and Francis Mathey-Apossan; b) consider appointment of supervisor of operations – applicants include Henry Derouselle and Daniel LeBoeuf; c) approve the renewal of administrative contracts for Denise Frederick, principal at Breaux Bridge Jr. High, and Katrina Williams, principal at Breaux Bridge Elementary.
•Consider the following board member requests: a) discuss effects of reconfiguration on the Title I program (Rodney Ledoux); b) consider reconfiguration of grade levels in the Breaux Bridge and Parks areas (Frederic Stelly); c) consider resolution to censure board member (Floyd Knott); d) consider changing the procedure for adoption of items placed on the agenda (Knott).
•Consider request for permission to advertise for bids on 70 football lockers for St. Martinville Sr. High.
•Consider transfer of the Buddy Poche campsite lease.
•Consider request to “piggyback” on Caddo Parish’s library books bid.
•Consider proclamation designating April 11-17 as National Library Week.
