Breaux Bridge – The St. Martin School Board will face a relatively brief and routine agenda when it holds its monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Instructional Center, 111 Courville Street in Breaux Bridge.

One of the top items will be the appointment of a new assistant principal for Breaux Bridge High School to fill the vacancy created when Rene Angelle was promoted to principal of the school.

Applicants for the position include Neil Armstead, Devin Baltazar, Louis Blanchard, Tonya Lancon and Rachel Theriot.

Along with a number of routine items, today’s agenda includes:

•Consider a number of construction projects including advertisement for bids on the air-conditioning of the JCEP gym, and completion of plans for new classrooms at Parks Primary and Teche Elementary.

•Consider annual contracts with Poche Prouet Associates LTD for fire marshal assistance and record plans (not to exceed $25,000); mechanical system maintenance program (not to exceed $27,000); asbestos testing at various schools; and mold investigation at various schools.

•Presentation by Malcolm Duplantis on JBHM school improvement report for Breaux Bridge Jr. High and St. Martinville Jr. High, and consideration of continuation of the program at SMJH.

•Executive (secret) session to consider citizen’s request to discuss personnel.

•Request by board president Aaron Flegeance to discuss keeping carpentry class at the Louisiana Technical College-Evangeline Campus with expenses to be paid by general funds.
