Nicole Poirier and Kent Berard, both of St. Martinville, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage. The couple will exchange vows on Jan. 15, 2011, during a 7 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Loreauville. The bride-elect is the daughter of Steve and Nanette Poirier of St. Martinville. The groom-elect is the son of Kenneth and Jan Berard of New Iberia. The bride-elect is a graduate of St. Martinville Sr. High and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, and is employed by Acadian Homecare. The groom-elect is a graduate of Loreauville Sr. High and is employed by Flowers Bakery.
