Loreauville – Nicole Poirier and Kent Berard were united in marriage on Jan. 15, 2011, during a 7 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Deacon Chris officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Nanette Poirier of St. Martinville. The groom is the son of Kenneth and Jan Berard of New Iberia.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a silky taffeta gown by Casablanca Bridal in ivory with accent beads. The bodice and waistline were accentuated with gathers and silky taffeta covered buttons lined the back of the gown to the end of the train. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas accented with lavender roses.

Maid of honor was Lisa Beckett.

Flower girls were Madison Berard, daughter of the bride and groom; and Paige McHugh, godchild of the groom.

Best man was Jake Theriot.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at St. Theresa’s Hall in Loreauville.

After a honeymoon on a Western Carribean cruise, the couple will reside in St. Martinville.
