Rev. Clifton LeJeune, Jennings, has been awarded the 2008 Red Apple Award by Alpha Kappa Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. It was presented by Nancy Allbritton at the Banquet. In 1999, Alpha Kappa established the annual Red Apple Award to honor an individual who is not an active employee of the parish school system, but who has given distinctive service to education and/or youth of Jefferson Davis Parish. Members submit nominations at a meeting, the vote is recorded, and the Award is presented at the Honor Banquet. Rev. LeJeune is not a teacher, but has certainly been surrounded with young people of Jeff Davis Parish during his lifetime as a minister. He is most deserving of the honor bestowed upon him by this group of women educators.
