For Eunice police and Jody Vallier, it was a case of dejavu.

Two years ago this month, Vallier tried to escape Eunice police by hiding in a crawfish pond.

It didn’t work. And as a result, he went to prison - for a while.

Vallier was arrested again last week, when a number of officers served warrants on him for narcotics and resisting arrest.

During the arrest, a firearm allegedly in Vallier’s vehicle on Fuselier Street was seized as were narcotics also allegedly found in the vehicle.

Vallier, 22, lives on Corn Street.

Arrested with him was Monique Sattler, 39, Acadian Village, who was charged with interfering with the duties of police officer.

Vallier’s arrest record goes back to Juvenile Court, though those records on sealed.

At the time he was charged with a number of crimes, including attempted homicide, in the crawfish pond incident he was on probation for earlier crimes.

As a result of that arrest, the three years probation for simple burglary, two counts, aggravated flight from an officer, unauthorized use and battery on an officer was revoked.

In another case, Vallier was charged with simple robbery for the alleged theft of a cell phone and cocaine possession when he showed up at City Court on another matter.
