Flower drying, Tour of Homes topics of garden club meeting

St. Martinville – Lori Jackson was the speaker at the October meeting of the St. Martinville Garden Club.

Jackson, an active member of the club, gave an informative presentation on air drying flowers, grasses and seed heads. She also discussed the best time to pick flowers, the best process to dry flowers and the best way to handle the flowers once dried.

The St. Martinville Garden Club is also hosting the annual “Christmas Tour of Homes.” Tickets can be purchased from any garden club member, at the Duchamp Opera House, Shamrock Office Supply, and Company Salon.

The “Christmas Tour of Homes” will be on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Included in this year’s tour are:

•Duchamp Opera House, 200 South Main Street, St. Martinville.

•The home of Matt and Shawn Prima, 114 West Hamilton Street, St. Martinville.

•The home of Clint and Tammy LeBlanc, 2016 Albert Street, St. Martinville.

•Courthouse Annex, 415 St. Martin Street, St. Martinville.

•The home of John and Avis Gutekunst, 204 West Bridge Street, St. Martinville.

•The home of Mike and Lisa David, 1177 D. Joel Blanchard, St. Martinville.

The headquarters for the “Christmas Tour of Homes” is the Duchamp Opera House at the corner of Main and Port Streets in St. Martinville.
