BATON ROUGE – Services will be Saturday for former state Department of Transportation and Development Secretary Robert Graves. He died March 28 at age 79.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a civil engineer. He was with DOTD 33 years, serving as secretary under Gov. Edwin Edwards. After retiring, he became East Baton Rouge Director of Public Works and was president of Dawson Engineers.
Survivors include his wife Nina, a son and a daughter.

Acclaimed Realtor
ALEXANDRIA – Services were March 26 for real estate expert Erma Thornton Adams. She died March 8 at age 81.
For more than 25 years, she traveled the U.S. speaking about real estate at Mike Perry seminars. She won numerous professional awards at the local and national level. She was former administrator of Destrehan Plantation for the River Road Historical Society. She was also former director of the Caddo Parish Mental Health Association.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. James Adams and a son.

Sgt. Maj. Retired
LIVINGSTON _ Services will be Friday for Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Retired Huelette Fontenont, Sr.. He died March 28 at age 82.
His U.S. Army service extended from the Korean War, during which he received a Purple Heart, to Operation Desert Storm.
Survivors include his wife Myrie, a son and two daughters.

Long-time school board member
SCOTT – Services for businessman and former School Board member Jesse Boudreaux, Jr. will be Friday. He died March 27 at age 81.
He was owner and operator of Swifty Foods Grocery in Lafayette for many years and also owned Jesse Boudreaux Paint Center. He was a Lafayette Parish School Board member for a number of terms.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter.

One of the 'Rosies'
BASTROP – Services for Elizabeth Darby, one of famed “Rosie the Riveters” will be Friday. She died March 28 at age 96.
When World War II started she attended Riveting School in Shreveport and then went to work in Bellevue, Mich. at the Willow Run Bomber Plant. She was one of the women designated as Rosie the Riveter helping the war effort. She told the story of how she would cut through “old man (Henry) Ford’s grape orchard to get to the bus stop.” After the war, she worked for International Paper for 25 years.

Retired English prof
COLUMBIA _ Services for former university English professor Kay Godfrey Ellender will be April 7. She died March 27 at age 69.
She was a former teacher in the English departments are UL-Monroe and Louisiana Tech University.
Survivors include a son and her mother.
'Marrying' Judge
NEW ORLEANS – Services for retired city judge Dommic Grieshaber, Sr. will be Friday. He died in Covington on March 26 at age 87.
He served in the elected judgeship continuously for 35 years, retiring as chief judge. He performed numerous weddings including those of Marvin Gaye, Stacy Keach and Al Copeland.
Survivors include his wife Inez and nine children.

Long-time podiatrist
NEW ORLEANS – Services for long-time podiatrist Dr. Joseph Hardin, Jr. will be Saturday. He died March 26 at age 88.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and practiced in New Orleans for more than 30 years. He was active in the Urban League and other organizations.
Survivors include his wife Cecila and two children.
Arrangements are by Gertrude Geddes Willis.
Fabric scientist
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Services for Dr. Robert Harper, Jr., long-time scientist at the Southern Regional Research Center in New Orleans , will be Saturday. He died March 27 at age 81.
He worked at the research center for more than 30 years. Among his many research projects was development of processes for producing durable press / flame retardant fabrics, many of which were used in military applications. The originality of his entire body of work is evidenced by the fact that of his nearly 200 publications, 39 are U.S. patents.
