Former AME minister

BATON ROUGE – Services will be Saturday for writer and AME minister the Rev. Nolan T. Pitts. He died March 30 at age 83.

He was a native of Baton Rouge and graduate of Southern University.

He was former vice mayor of Eatonville, Fla., a columnist for The Christian Recorder and the author of several books and publications.

For 40 years, he was pastor of many churches in the South Florida Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, a son and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Marvin Zanders, Apoka, Fla.



Former Methodist minister


BAKER – Services will be Friday for retired Methodist minister the Rev. Brady Bock. He died April 4 at age 84.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a Louisiana Methodist Conference minister for 40 years.

His service included organizing Memorial UNM of Bastrop and director of the Wesley Foundation at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Survivors include his wife Carol, a son and three daughters.
