The Cecilia Bulldogs went 2-1 in the Westminster baseball tournament last weekend, falling to St. Edmund before bouncing back with wins over Avoyelles and Westminster.

Earlier in the week the ’Dogs suffered a 4-0 shutout to Livonia in non-district action. Cecilia will move into District 6-4A action with a 7-7 season record.

St. Martinville topped Westgate 5-4 on March 15, scoring three runs in the seventh inning to rally from a 4-2 deficit.

But there wer no reports on The ’Ville’s games against Delcambre and in the St. Louis tournament.

There were also no reports on Breaux Bridge games with Sam Houston and Vermilion Catholic, although the Tigers did suffer a 12-9 loss to Westgate in the New Iberia Sr. High tournament.

The three parish teams move into league action during the coming week, with the following games scheduled:

•Thursday, March 24 – St. Martinville at Opelousas; Breaux Bridge hosts Northside; Cecilia at Westgate.

•Saturday, March 26 – St. Martinville at Beau Chene; Breaux Bridge hosts Opelousas; Cecilia hosts Teurlings Catholic.

•Tuesday, March 29 – St. Martinville at Teurlings Catholic; Breaux Bridge at Livonia; Cecilia hosts Beau Chene.
