Cecilia High School senior William LeBlanc earned sixth place honors at the U.S. Junior Olympics national meet held July 30 in Sacramento, Calif.

Williams, who cleared 6-8 at the meet, earned a trip to the nationals by placing first in the Louisiana Governor’s Games in Baton Rouge earlier this summer and second in the Junior Olympics Regional Meet held at UL-Monroe.

LeBlanc, the son of Julie LeBlanc of Cecilia, had an outstanding junior year for the Bulldogs this past season. He won gold medals in the high jump at the St. Martin Parish meet, the District 6-4A meet, and the 4A regional meet. He went on to finish second in the Class 4A state meet at LSU in Baton Rouge in May.
