Cecilia powered past St. Martinville in two District 5-4A games played last week. On Tuesday (April 3) the Bulldogs posted a lopsided 14-4 win over The ’Ville and turned in a repeat performance on Thursday, rolling to a 17-3 win in five innings over the struggling Tigers.

The wins boosted Cecilia to a 16-5, 4-2 season record while St. Martinville slipped to 3-19, 0-6.

Meanwhile, Breaux Bridge split its league games against Northside last week. The Tigers slammed the Vikings 11-2 on Tuesday, but Northside got revenge with an 8-3 victory on Thursday.

Breaux Bridge takes a 13-10, 3-3 record into the homestretch of regular season action.

Games scheduled over the next seven days include:

•Thursday, April 12 – Breaux Bridge at St. Martinville; and St. Thomas More at Cecilia.

•Saturday, April 14 – Beau Chene at St. Martinville; Sacred Heart of Ville Platte at Breaux Bridge; and Port Barre at Cecilia.

•Tuesday, April 17 – Northside at St. Martinville; St. Thomas More at Breaux Bridge; and Cecilia at Teurlings Catholic.
