LEONVILLE – State Police suspect impairment as a factor in the case of a man who drove into Bayou Teche on Wednesday night.
Joseph Charles, Jr., 36, of Opelousas ran a stop sign at La. 103 and Church Street about 10:30 p.m. and into the bayou.
His body was recovered about 30 yards downstream from the pickup truck Thursday afternoon.
