Cecilia – Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Betty Guidry Robin, 79, who passed away on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Fr. Gary Schexnayder was the celebrant. Fr. Michael Delcambre, pastor of St. Joseph Church, was the con-celebrant.

Mrs. Robin was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family and friends and entertaining her company when they would visit. She was married to her husband, Howard, for 57 years whom she adored along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, and everyone else she met during her life. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Howard (Toto) Robin; her son, Roland Robin and his wife Penny; her daughter, Carolyn Serrette and her husband Darrell; her brother, Chester Paul Guidry; her sister, June Leonard, all of Cecilia; her grandchildren, Darrell (Lil D) Serrette II and his companion Kandi Huval, Heidi Robin Delcambre and her husband Shane, and Geary Robin;, and her great-grandchild, Zaylie Elizabeth Serrette.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jean Batiste Guidry; her mother, Mosela Guidry; her brothers, George Guidry and Mentor “Pacquet” Guidry; her sisters, Florence “Mom Shook” Schexnayder and Isaure “BooBoo” Kidder; her nephew, Stephen “Hot” Schexnayder; and her nieces, Phyllis Dupuis and Linda Guidry Taylor.
