BICYCLISTS INVOLVED IN BELIEVED HIT AND RUN

The Chaneyville Fire Department responded to a possible hit and run involving a bicyclist. The call was received at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25. The incident occurred on Reames Road. Upon arrival at the scene firemen noticed that a man was lying on the road with a bicycle nearby, which appeared to be a hit and run. There were no witnesses to hte incident and the victim was unresponsive. The man, identified as Junior Wardell of Michigan, was placed in a neck brace and onto a stretcher. Wardell suffered minor contusions and abrasions. EMS worked at the scene along with East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office.
