VILLE PLATTE -- The State Fire Marshal is investigating what is believed to be the intentional burning o Evangeline Family Medicine on Tuesday night.

According to the Ville Platte Fire Department, a call came in at 8 pm regarding a fire at 110 E. Lincoln. The building is owned by Lonnie Fontenot.

The fire department said 26 firefighters fought the blaze in the frigid conditions.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with a cut on his hand but there were no other injuries.

Responders were also able to save all of the medical records from the building, officials said.

According to the fire department, the building is not a total loss.

The last fire truck left the scene shortly after midnight.
