What is Vacation Bible School?
Vacation Bible School is a ministry designed to reach people of all ages – children in particular – with the good news of Jesus Christ. It’s a fun-filled spiritual adventure that provides concentrated Bible study encouraging real-life application of God’s Word in today’s world.
When you were a kid, did you ever discover an old trunk or box filled with memorabilia from another era? Did your imagination start to soar? What if that box was filled with an old bomber jacket, a pilot cap and goggles, old flight logs, photos of the inside of a 1930s airplane cockpit, and a journal filled with exciting stories and amazing facts?
Maybe the pilot flew all over the world and was able to visit some of the most spectacular natural wonders? Then, it hits you! Those natural wonders are just as breathtaking and amazing today as they were generations ago… and so is the One who created them.
This year’s Vacation Bible School theme is: “Amazing Wonders Aviation” and it begins at a vintage aviation airstrip. Kids will take off each day from the Worship Rally Hangar and fly to some of the world’s greatest natural wonders as they encounter an awesome God and His amazing power.
The first stop each day will be Bible Study at Victoria Falls. This giant wall of water in Africa is also known as “The Smoke That Thunders.”
In this awe-inspiring setting, kids will explore the Bible and discover more about our Awesome God and His amazing power over nature, circumstances, sin, death, and life itself.
The journey continues as kids travel to learn about Missions Under the Northern Lights, create Crafts at the Great Barrier Reef, move to Music at the Matterhorn, explore fun Recreation at the Grand Canyon, and stop for a few Snacks at the Paricutin Volcano.
Our VBS Motto is: “Awesome God! Amazing Power!” It’s based on Psalm 147:5, “Our Lord is great, vast in power; His understanding is infinite.”
We’re looking forward to another great opportunity to share God’s love with the children of our community. For more information or to register call: 298-3669 or 394-3937. The adventure begins Monday, June 11, through Friday, June 15, between 8:30-11:30 a.m. Admission is Free!
