Project Description: Construction of new 45’ X 30’ pre-engineered metal building at the Council on Aging site, 391 Cannery Road, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana 70517.

Bid Documents for a Stipulated Sum contract may be obtained from the office of the Architectural & Engineering Consultants, Inc., 514 Parkway Drive, Breaux Bridge, LA 70514 (337) 332-0649 upon receipt of a deposit in the amount of $100.00 for one set. Deposit for the first set is fully refundable to all bona fide prime contract bidders and a 50% refund shall be made for all additional sets to prime bidders and to all sub-contractors and material suppliers, upon return of the documents in good condition no later than ten (10) days after receipt of bids. The deposit for damaged, incomplete or late returned documents will be forfeited. Contractors will be responsible for all shipping costs, which is non refundable.

Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount plus all additive alternates. Bid Bond must be written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana and payable to the St. Martin Parish Government.

The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount and who is currently on the US Department of Treasury Financial Management Service List and complies with R.S. 38:2219. The bond shall not be accepted if written for an amount exceeding the amount listed in the Treasury Financial Management Service List and complies with R.S. 38:2219. The bond shall be countersigned by a person who is under contract with the Surety Company or bond issuer as an agent of the company or issuer, and who is licensed as an insurance agent in the State of Louisiana, and who is residing in the state.

A non mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 @ 10:00 a.m. at the Council on Aging site, 391 Cannery Road, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana 70517.

This project is classified as a General Construction project and the Bidder certifies that he meets all licensing requirements of the State of Louisiana and is duly and currently licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2164.

Submit your offer on the Bid Form provided. Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 45 days after submission, per LA R.S. 38:2215 (A), the political subdivision shall award or reject the bid within 45 days of receipt of bids. Per LA R.S. 38:2214 (C) under certain conditions, the bidder has (48) hours from the bid opening, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays to withdraw his bid.

The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers governed by LA R.S. 38:2214 (A) (B) (1) (2) (3) (4) (5).
