A man arrested last summer for unlawfully entering a residence is back in St. Landry Parish Jail, this time accused of pistol whipping a woman and holding her against her will.

The woman is recovering after she was hit multiple times in the face with a gun during the domestic dispute this weekend.

According to St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, 40-year-old Aaron Charles Babineaux of Opelousas beat the woman with a gun and kicked her while threatening to kill her.

Deputies say the woman screamed for him to stop but he continued to hit her and even stuck the gun down her throat.

Deputies also say the woman was beaten so badly that she could not walk. According to deputies, when she tried to crawl to the couch, Babineaux told her that she was not going anywhere and continued to beat her.

Deputies say when Babineaux, apparently exhausted from allegedly terrorizing the defenseless woman, fell asleep and the woman was able to escape and went to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Babineaux was arrested for Aggravated Second Degree Battery, False Imprisonment and Aggravated Assault with A Firearm and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.

Last Aug. 4, he was charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

It was not immediately known whether the two cases are related.
