Breaux Bridge—A memorial service will be held at 6:00 on 7 May_2012 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for W.M.”Coochie” Briggs,62, who passed away on Tuesday, April 24,2012 at the LSU Shreveport Hospital, in Shreveport, La.



Coochie was married to James “Jim” Briggs for 26 years. Her love for her daughter Charlsey and son Corey was unconditional. Her children and granddaughter, Aubrey, were the loves of her life. She devoted her time & energy in helping care for her family.



Throughout her life, Coochie was a member of St. Bernard Parish and served as a Captain for hours of Adoration at St. Bernard Church. She loved giving her time to the Chapel and the adorers. She frequently replaced adorers as needed.



Coochie was a retired beautician having spent 25 years in the business. Coochie also worked several years as an aide at St. Bernard School.



Survivors include her husband James “Jim” Briggs; a daughter Charlsey Briggs and fiancé Jason Poirier; a son Corey Briggs and granddaughter Aubrey Briggs, all of Breaux Bridge; brother Douglas Romero and his wife Claire of Breaux Bridge; sisters Lisa Romero and Annette Romero and her companion,Toni Stovall, all of Breaux Bridge; niece Tiffany R.Gautreaux of Lafayette and nephews, Ryan Romero ,Robbie Romero, W.C. Romero, Colby Romero, Brody Romero and great nephew Taylor Boudreaux.



She was preceded in death by her parents Paul Romero Jr. and Aline Dore Romero and brothers Paul “Tickey” Romero and William “Billy” Romero.
