THE CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS of the Americas sponsors an Education contest each year. Breaux Bridge CDA Court, St. Paul, presented 26 1st -3rd certificates. Themes were “The Lord is My Light” and “The Light Others Give to Me.”  First place fourth and fifth grade winners were, front row from left, Jace Knott, poetry; and Colyn Scrantz, poetry. PLAY BALL! – Players, supporters and spectators swam into Breaux Bridge’s Parc Hardy for a 60-team tournament last weekend after BAYSI coaches and parents and other volunteers readied the fields. USSSA tournaments have proved to have a six-figure economic impact over a two- or three-day period.                            (Sally Angelle)
