TEA PARTY

I enjoyed the “Tea Party” experience last night in lafayette. There were probably three to five hundred people there, many with signs, i.e. Congress what’s in your wallet/ my money…Spread my work ethic, not my money…I’ll keep my guns, money & freedom, you keep the rest…Born free but taxed to death…Don’t spend your children’s future…and speakers with megaphones talking about heartfelt issues. The tone was quiet, calm, non-intrusive, almost an apology for the inconvenience caused, to the point of eeriness. It reminded me of the story of the frog in the cook pot; we’re all being cooked slowly, some of us know and those of us who do are now apologizing for knowing. And so it was, I would have felt better if the crowd was wielding firearms and storming the walls, but like the frog we’ll just cook awhile longer, look, talk, contemplate, muse and continue to wait for the revolution, after all we have men in authority looking out for our interests and they always know best.

Typical Republican rhetoric. Tell everyone what to do regarding their bodies, etc. BUT God forbid that anyone take any of their money to run this country. Maybe if this country didn't meddle so much in the Middle East (read: protect Big Oil's interests there) then taxes could be lowered. THAT is welfare for the rich, nothing more. Let's see you rail against that.

Quite a few assumptions have been made concerning this post. First we don't resell the content to anyone. I imagine that our standard disclaimer means we might be able to, but as the in house technical developer, I know that we don't. Second, you assume that all of our contributor are trying to make money off their articles. This is not really true. Most of them write because they have something to share and our platform/microphone is larger than their own personal blogs.
