St. Martinville Rotary hosts Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District representatives

Representatives of the Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District visited the St. Martinville Rotary Club on Feb. 25 to discuss the history and operation of the district, which was established in 1969 and became operational in 1982, pumping water from the Atchafayla River into the Bayou Teche and Vermilion River.

This year’s Black Business Night Club Owner’s Association scholarships were presented in memory of the late Hilda Kately Smith to Amber Trahan (left) from Cade who is attending Southern University and Jasmine Narcisse (right) from Parks who is attending the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
