Voters in some parts of St. Martin Parish have a few issues to decide this Saturday in the Oct. 4 election.
Heading the list is the selection of a judge for “Election Section 1, Division H” of the 16th Judicial District, a race that pits incumbent Lori A. Landry against challenger Lucretia P. Burton, both Democrats.

“Public notice.” Sounds great, but it costs money ... at least in the print media. So why in the world should governmental entities spend taxpayers’ money on public notices when they can post them on the Internet for next to nothing?

PARKS HIT HARD . . .
I visited Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site here in St. Martinville Saturday and the beautiful grounds took a pretty good beating from Hurricane Gustav.
