Cecilia – The hosting Cecilia Bulldogs used superior depth in both the track and field events to capture the championship trophy in their own Bulldog Relays here last Friday.

Houma – The Ellender Patriots exploded for 24 points in the fourth quarter on their way to a 71-55 win over the Bulldogs of Cecilia in a Class 4A regional basketball contest here last Tuesday, March 2.

Cecilia’s Lady Bulldogs opened play in District 6-4A basketball last week, notching wins over parish rival Breaux Bridge and Beau Chene. In tournament action at Berwick over the weekend, Cecilia won two and lost two, moving to 6-4-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Breaux Bridge – The Breaux Bridge Tigers picked up their second tournament championship in as many weekends, knocking off three opponents on their way to first place honors in its own baseball tournament held this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Lafayette – The UL Athletic Network has announced that during the month of March its Spotlight on Former Athlete will be on Rocky P. Guidry.

Cecilia – Donovan Williams scored nine of Cecilia 11 overtime points to help boost the Bulldogs to their first Class 4A basketball playoff victory here last Friday as coach Marty Lewis’ squad pulled out a 67-59 win over Helen Cox of New Orleans.
