2008 cane harvest in the books

ST. MARTINVILLE – Parish motorists traveling along Highways 347 and 31 may have noticed a less tedious commute since last weekend. No smoke could be seen billowing from the St. Martinville horizon. The 2008 sugarcane harvest is now complete.

HENDERSON – The Town Council appeared to agree in principal that there ought to be some planned development of its waterfront on Bayou Amy, but balked at a stylish vision with a $60,000 planning price tag offered by a local consultant.
