Thanks to the work of the St. Martinville Garden Club, Glenda Kately Sonnier, Parks and Recreation Director, and her staff and many local volunteers, St. Martinville placed first in the annual Cleanest City Contest for District 3.

With open hearts and poetic words, members of the St. Martinville Senior High Dead Poets Society were the main attraction during the first annual Poetry on the Square, sponsored by the City of St. Martinville and the St. Martin Parish Public Library.
An official announcement could still be days or even weeks away, but sources close to the issue say Evangeline Campus of South Louisiana Community College will remain in St. Martinville.

Breaux Bridge planning $2.2 million project to improve distribution of water

The 300,000-gallon tower in Commercial Park East south of Interstate 10, where one of the new lines serving the North Bridge area will be connected to the existing system .

The city fathers here have embarked upon an ambitious plan to improve and increase the delivery of municipal water plus other infrastructure improvements using funds from the city’s special taxing
