Roy ‘Gabby’ Messex

Hoistington, Kan. – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Nicholson and Ricke Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Hoistington, Kan., for Roy “Gabby” Messex, 87, who died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
“Gabby” was a very outgoing person, always visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, hunting, and watching the birds and squirrels that were in the yard. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his sons, Dennis Messex of Flugerville, Texas, and Brian Messex of Oklahoma; his sister, Opal McArthur of Aransas Pass, Texas,; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Bryant and Maude Travis; his sons; and his sisters, Edith and Sussie.
